Common Issues and Solutions

The app does not appear in the Amazon Appstore

Verify that your Fire TV has Fire OS 5 or higher. First-generation models may not be compatible. Try searching for "OTTPLAYER" without spaces. You can also install the app via sideloading if your device allows it.

Streams do not load or there is constant buffering

The basic Fire TV Stick has limited resources. Reduce the stream quality if possible. Make sure your WiFi has a good signal (the Fire Stick is sensitive to router distance). Restart the device by unplugging it from power for 30 seconds.

The app closes or freezes

Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > OTT Player > Clear cache. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app. Make sure you have enough available storage space.

"Stream failed" error on certain channels

Fire TV supports H.264 and H.265 (HEVC). 4K models have better codec compatibility. If a channel does not play, verify that the stream format is compatible with your specific Fire TV model.

I cannot navigate with the remote control

Use the directional keys on the remote to navigate between channels and menus. The center/OK button selects. The back button returns to the previous menu. If the remote is unresponsive, replace the batteries or re-pair the remote in Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices.
